Blue Carbon Offset

Dr Darian McBain

Global Executive, Advisor and Board Member in sustainability, supply chains, human rights and sustainable finance

Ocean health is critical. The Blue Economy must be developed and protected by the entire global seafood industry and its participants. Global seafood supply chains are complex, with a wide range of different stakeholders involved. We must unite, ensuring traceable products and that the entire process is sustainable. When every participant prioritises ethical conduct, we can collaborate, providing products that can be proved to conform to the highest sustainability standards.

The direct responsibility to act correctly is a major factor in sustainable business. However, there are other compelling reasons, not least commercial imperatives. We must work together to meet the increasing consumer demand for sustainable products while also protecting ocean resources to ensure that future generations are able to enjoy fish for years to come.
